Bf 109 G-2 /R6, "Yellow 12", pilot Oblt. Heinrich Ehrler, 6/JG 5, Petsamo, Finland, March 1943
On April 4, 1945 it seems that Ehrler (with 204 to his credit) on his Me 262, after claiming the shooting down of two B-17s, now without ammunition, threw himself against a third B-17 ramming it but before this extreme and fatal gesture it seems that he greeted his friend Theo (Weissemberger) via radio with this final sentence: ' Theo, here Heinrich. I shot down two bombers and I have no more ammunition. I'm going to ram. Auf Wiedersehen, see you in Valhalla!'
The radio broadcast was confirmed by both his friend Theo and recorded from the base.
